None of these are as fun as "You saw the future"

I've had a loads of very strong cases of Deja Vu. I remember most of my dreams and every time thats where it comes from, the same thing occurring in real life. It's easy to think it's something from beyond or existential but probably it's just our brains over time trying to guess the future for our survival.

I don’t know man, I had a distinct dream of this one house and me sitting in this couch watching a specific show for about 3 seconds in my dream and years later I bought my new house and it was exactly how my dream happened

That would be a nice explanation if I not only felt I had been in a certain location before but also had an exact conversation in that exact location. That’s a bit more eerie

I have very useful deja vu, I can tell if I ever knew something before, I can almost instantly know if I don't know something or I if just forgot it

Yea it’s basically just your brain glitching telling you you’ve seen something happen before. It’s convincing to you because it’s the same signal your brain gives you when you actually recall something.

I had this continously. Turned out I had a mild form of epilepsy.

What if it's about a feeling you have in the moment that feels familiar from a different moment, because sometimes I have deja vu in situations that are not remotely close to the things I’ve done or places I’ve been to before. For example the hazy feeling I got in a cave that felt similar to that time I was in a carnival. And because the feelings are similar, the situations feel similar. I don’t know though, I'm just writing down thoughts.

I thought deja vu was from imagining things before they happen

My theory is we have no clue how the brain actually does all its jobs, so we only have a basic idea. It’s one of the many mysteries of our brain and it’s easy to blame it on something superstitious or supernatural. As for Deja vu, it could be our brains make a calculated guess about our future and out of all the millions of possibilities just so happens to make a correct guess this time.
