Mother Nature is turning humans into vegetarians one Lone Star Tick bite at a time. My sister-out-law developed an allergy to red meat years ago and it took a long time for them to figure out why.

Just an FYI: I've been allergic to red meat since I was 16yo. It was believed to have come from a tick bite when I was 12yo. I'm 57yo now. Been a vegetarian (no animal flesh of any sort) since I was 21yo.
I'm way more concerned about getting Lyme Disease and other possible infectuons from ticks than the allergy I contracted in my childhood.

Depends on whether the ticks previous meal was mammalian or avian. If you get a tick embedded the safest way to remove is freezing them with wart remover. If you squeeze them while removing, you risk injecting their stomach contents, potentially causing alphagal sensitivity. Dabbing with kerosene can also cause them to vomit back into your bloodstream. Alphagal is a protein component of mammalian meat that remains in the tick's stomach for some time. The risk is your immune system mistaking alphagal for tick venom and reacting accordingly.
