The private space company's Falcon 9 Reusable (F9R) rocket exploded on August 22nd, 2014 during a test flight in McGregor, Texas. Footage of the wreckage falling back to the surface after the explosion was uploaded to Youtube by Pat Hykkonen.

Instead of "Explodes" it was more of a self destruct. It veered too close to houses. So we know the safety aspect of the rocket is working.

To all the potato haters. At least there is video at all. I've been curious to see the footage ever since I heard about it. I'm sure SpaceX will release high quality video once they're done with it. I think my priorities would be to examine video evidence to figure out what went wrong before releasing it to the public. Stop being kids about it, at least we have something to go off of.

Filming vertically is one kind of stupid but forcing it to 16:9 with the black bards is another. With proper vertical video you could at least rotate your screen vertically if it on rotating vesa stand.
