I was a victim for over a year when I was 10 years old. I did the right thing, we went to court and the judge said that it came down to "he said she said because there was no evidence". The judge said that to a 10 year old. Any idea what it takes for a 10 year old to tell their mother, then tell the cops that show up at your house, then tell more cops at the station, then tell a lawyer, a child phycologist, a judge and room full of strangers? And then be told that we won't punish him because you might be lying. That was decades ago.

My fiancé's little brother's best friend was victim to one of these scams. Someone posing as a fellow teen got him to send them photos then blackmailed him. He was so embarrassed and felt so trapped it eventually led to his s**cide. He didn't feel like he could go to his parents, friends, or authorities because he was embarrassed and thought it was his own fault that he sent the scammer photos.

Right here is why I have a lot of respect for the people who work in law enforcement, the FBI, The Military, etc. These men and women have to see a lot of heartbreaking/sickening/cruel things. So others aren't hurt by whatever or whoever. They're basically the shield for the rest of us. They eventually stop it from hurting others. Yes, they get paid decently, and yes, they signed up for it. But, imagine the mental anguish that these people endure..? It has to be horrible.

I met someone like her while working at a local gas station. She was a csi investigator…The poor thing was purchasing a giant bottle of whiskey. She looked horrible, I was like “are you ok, hun?” And her response broke my damn heart. She said “I just got done working a case with two little children involved and I really need this right now.”
I could never do that job. I would not survive. It takes the most special people to take on these cases… I pray they have the best psychologists in the world walking beside them though because lord knows they need it.
