I'm smart enough that I don't get that low on fuel as it heats up the fuel pump and wears it prematurely. Fill up at 1/4. If you need to remove tank, drain properly with technology provided and charge the client accordingly. You will also NEVER catch my wearing obnoxious sleazy white sunglasses.

Just keep your engine rpms as low as possible to avoid using as much gas as possible, any time your going down hill put it in neutral.

We’ll make a 50/50 bet, the guy who wins doesn’t push😂

Fast or slow, you must be efficient, so slowing or stopping is your enemy, so use the shoulder/sidewalk etc to pass slower/stopped traffic, and dont stop at lights or stop signs, etc

Im going to say low and slow, keep rpm low and speed as low as possible, the faster you go the more air you have to push through...thats just my thought 🤔

I try to put it in a higher gear, turn off the A/C, shut off any electric loads that would cause more drag on the engine and try to make it to the closest gas station.

It depends on drag, engine rpm for max efficiency for a given load etc... drag increases exponentially with speed but if you go too slow, you are burning too much fuel kinda like idle. The answer is probably somewhere between 30 to 60 MPH in that truck as long as you can stay around 3000 RPM. Smaller engines will be better at lower speed because there is less wasted energy.

At slower speed, you are consuming more fuel, at a speed over 60-70 mph you are also consuming more fuel. Believe it or not, you will save lots of fuel if you go 55-60mph. That being said, you must always follow the posted speed limit.

If in that situation…Im driving the speed (whatever it is based off the mpg monitor from experience) that is giving me the max mpg vs speed.

to save gas, run around 1800-2200 rpm. too low and burns more under stress from gear box…same as too high. Watch the traffic and don’t put yourself in a position to accelerate uphill. Call your best budd and tell him to prepare the cooler with goodies and prepare himself for a trip if this does not work. Regardless of scenario, just have fun living! BTW…theoretically, as I know from others, dash light comes on around the last 2 gallons, and cuts you off (like says you have 0 miles) at around 1 gallon. Depending on the car’s state, it’s your risk to suck in the engine possible junk in that last gallon

Vehicles have a mph sweet spot where they get the highest MPGs possible which I think is around 45-55 mph. Without looking it up I believe that is the speed they drive to obtain the “highway mpg” for your window sticker. That being said I would go 45-55 mph and turn off everything that could possible put a drag on the engine, like the AC. Also you would want to drive with the windows up to get the best aerodynamics your vehicle can possibly get, so hopefully you’re not in a desert lol.

1/4 tank fill it up. I ran my f150 to a 122 litre fill up one time. Fords all seem to do this on the fuel gauge it’s full forever but starts dropping off hard.

Drive slower. I have a 1930 Model A with a SBC. My tank holds 6 gallons and I get about 10 MPG. I have run out of gas twice, so I got to test the slow v/s fast theory. Driving slower will get you further. I carry a gas can now!

I shut off unnecessary load such as ac and only accelerate to keep up with traffic. My Ford goes an entire 1/4 of a turn under E.

I switch my dashboard to the display current MPG and drive slower and least rpm possible in a safely manner don't want to cause accident.
