I started refusing to meet right away when too many men became handsy when i wasn't ready. EVEN when i directly told them no! Now i wait until i get to know them for a bit and feel comfortable. Lots disappear and i don't let them come back months later, etc. They're interested and respectful, or they're not. I'm getting pretty good at being ruthless.

Oh damn. One minute I'm determined to flirt with someone I like who lives on the other side of the country. Because earlier I haven't been able to do what I expect/hope others will do for me. Like, how convenient is it for me when someone else shows interest in me first, because then I won't run the risk of being turned down. If I want and expect others to be vulnerable with me, I have to start being vulnerable myself.
Next minute I have a reality check. I'm at a point in my career where I don't know where I'll end up. I'm prepared to move around to get the experience I need. Will I move back south where he lives? Up north? To the capital? East? West? I don't know. Should I refrain from flirting and dating entirely during this time? What am I willing to do?

After 5 dates and one month and a half of txt messaging back n forth I realized that the guy was just breadcrumbing me strung me along, very surface level messages. He seemed very sweet n considerate at first but then he became a bit of judgmental and superior and a bit of intellectual snobbery

I usually do that. But it gets really tiring when you are the only one doing anything. While others are just along for the ride. You are still right. It just takes so mutch energy.
