I think that you're glossing over the part were Britain invaded Ireland and all the ethnic cleansing that they carried out i.e. the famine and hundreds of thousands of massacres

If you go to Ireland, and go to Glasnevin Cemetery, you'll see Michael Collins' grave and a bunch of other graves beside his, you'll see a name "Edward Crabbe" he was a Sergeant and he was my great uncle.

calling the north the "protestant north" ruins the entire point of trying to explain the troubles. Nationalists & catholics in the north fought against the british government, yet again, and framing it as a tribalist conflict is so stupid you would've educated people more by not making the video. Also not even throwing in a mention that the bloody sunday protestors were peaceful and unarmed. I get u want to condense the video as much as possible, but uve done it too much for it to make any sense.

I get that it's a 1 min video, but framing the War of Idependence as just police assassinations, and the Troubles as a bombing campaign against the 'protestant north' shows an incredibly poor understanding of the conflict, to the point of being downright bizarre. Even some loyalists would laugh at that take. The Provisionals formed as a response to ethnic cleansing by burning civilians from their homes and civil rights marches being attacked with the approval of the RUC. To the point where the british army were initially called in to reign in the embarassingly heavy handed RUC that kept appearing on the news beating protestors heads in. As we learn more about state collusion, it only becomes more damningly one sided. For example, we now know the first bombing attacks of the conflict were carried out on a reservoir as false flags by the UVF, along with false flag assassination attempts of a unionist politician.

Solidarity with my Irish republican comrades. In Ireland, apparently Republican means something promising. Apparently around the rest of the world democratic means something that offers more of a say to people. I live in the USA, so…
