I will never, never recommend not feeling your emotions as they rise up because I have first-hand experience of just how brutally emotional repression can destroy, so that's definitely not what this video is about.

What I am talking about is emotional maturity and management, something that every adult needs to learn if they want to enjoy not only a successful but also a peaceful life.

If your partner embarrasses you in public, you can't start yelling righ there and then, you need to wait for a private moment and by then, hopefully, you would have calmed down a little which will allow you to gently explain to your partner why you were embrassed and how you hope they wouldn't put you through that, again.
That's emotional maturity, and that's also managing and channeling your emotions into effective action. Maybe later, you can journal your heart out.

We live in a world where self-expression is encouraged, which is great, but emotional are highly powerful forces that will always need to be tempered and refined before they're let out.
