Gonna still be grateful for these ospreys, when we were hit with the super typhoon Haiyan, I saw these ospreys delivering humanitarian aid to us and saw these magnificent aircraft up close

The blackhawk has a 0.87 class a mishap rate and the osprey has a 0.32 class a mishap rate. These are rates so relative and out of 100,000 flight hours and so is a fair comparison. Of the accidents the osprey has had from 2016 to 2022 87% of the class A mishaps were due to pilot error.
This is to say this is a hard aircraft to fly but not an inheritenly dangrous one. The critics here are the same that doubted the F35 and should be dismissed as the mouth breathers they are.

The Osprey is actually on average not very dangerous, it’s just that society has (in certain ways) gotten very risk averse.

the sea stallion had a reutation for defectice clutch assembles and several were lost as well. it takes time unfortunately for those lost to find the faults that noone expected and corect them.

VTOL is always a pain but the Osprey isnt too bad for a first generation aircraft of its type. Like all 1st gen hardware it opened the way for something better.
