Yep. Agreed. I always steam my potatoes on low heat until they are soft but not too cooked, then I leave them in the fridge and eat them cold. It's insane how filling and satisfying they are. Much more than when baked and eaten hot

I’ve been microwaving sweet potatoes for years. I wrap them in some paper towels, wet the paper towels and then, depending on the size of the potatoes 🥔, I microwave them for about 4 mins….if they are not done yet I cook them about 1 more min. Throw some butter 🧈 and cinnamon on them and bam💥 tastes great

1. Cooling only turns small amount into resistant starch and still spikes blood sugar. 2. Purple potatoes taste good, and have large quantities of phytonutrients so I like those.

I always microwave small potatoes, fridge them, and use them cold in salads or mashed and slightly reheated. Yum! Thanks!!!

That’s crazy. Potatoes are like those color changing hot wheels I had when I was a kid. I love potatoes so I’m going to try this. Cold potatoes aren’t bad sliced either

A lot of people have tried this on their Youtube channels and tested their blood sugar afterwards. The cooking methods and cooling process didn't seem to help nearly as much as "studies" say.

I took three separate Blood Glucose readings after eating my Soy Chorizo recipe with potatoes and all were under 100 after 60-90 minutes of consuming. I listen to my body and how I feel and that determines what I eat. Plus, I'm German, we love potatoes ;-).

Pasta is similar. If you cook it and let it cool then reheat it, the starch is not as high.

What about boiling a potato? Is it similar to steaming?

Keto sweet treat recipe: Take a fork. Poke whole bunch of holes in the sweet potato. Take Moderately wet paper towel and wrap around the potato. Stick it in the microwave until it’s soft (my MW does it under 4 mins) Take it out. Scoop the inside of the potato out into a bowl and smash it with the fork. Let it cool down just a bit AND add sour cream (and some cinnamon if you have it) MMMMMMMmmm - it’s so gooooood

What if you bake, then freeze, then reheat a potato? Does reheating it also re-expand the starch chain?

What about boiled potatoes? From what I understand it can change it properties as well.

Plus, before Microwaving cutting potato into smaller pieces can make cooking much faster.
