IMO you need more than one hobby so you don’t end up feeling like that. I’m multifaceted and make clay art as my business for social media (now on YouTube as well) but I also read, paint, sew, & etc. so whenever I get to do clay it still feels like a hobby but i know I’m working 😊😊❤

That's eye opening to know. I think a person's hobby can also become a persons long term job and interest, it's not just only in art and craft. It must be a job or something that a person likes to do. ❤

Yes!! Many good-intentioned friends have expressed that doing art for work will cause me to hate it…yet AFAIK, none of them have even TRIED to navigate a passion/business relationship. There seems to be this assumption that passions and hobbies need to be fun 100% of the time and never cause any frustration, which just isn’t true. Doing what you love doesn’t mean it’s rainbows and sunshine everyday, and that’s OK! Fun and comfort isn’t the goal, fulfillment is!

The difference is having something that's just a hobby and something that is your passion.

You are totally agree being a full time artist request discipline because this is your full time job but you have also this freedom to work for yourself and the joy to explore and discover new territories when it comes to creativity and this has no price.

100% true, Kelsey! Everything changes and it's about the journey. Trust the process, especially if it brings you joy. ❤

You said it right sis Kelsey it's a great lifestyle and a dream come true God Willing. We are grateful to God and to creative creators like you who inspire and motivate one to not give up on oneself. Thank you for sharing beautiful 🥰 👍 Everyone out there who is about to give up, please give it another and another, and another push, if you are made to do art in this life, not doing it would cause a great displeasure and unfulfilled life ambition, so don't give up on your Art Life.

I picked art for my profession because I liked it through and through that I could enjoy the non fun part (business) of art. I do have hobbies I do just for “fun”. I have never painted with feeling of “fun” it’s much deeper and more intimate.

I think this topic needs to be expounded to more people. It's my biggest fear that has/still takes time for me to overcome. Also phrases like "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" need to be explained in detail. Kinda puts stuff on a pedestal which isn't always great.

You are right it's a wonderful lifestyle. Dont give up on yourself, believe in yourself and believe in God you got this and God Has got you. This is a dream come through for Who so ever believe. So believe. Besides if you don't give it another push, you might live to regret it. So glad you shared thus video dear. Thank you so much

There's a middle ground between "do what you love and you'll never work a day," and "don't turn your hobbies into your job because then you'll hate it." Or at least, they are two thoughts that are not actually opposites, through the power of didactic thinking.

I feel like using your hobby in some way in your job is a good perspective to have for someone like me, but not making it the whole aspect of your job and how you make money.
