When I hike is the only time I drink normal Gatorade or Powerade. About 250ml every 30 mins keeps my BGL in check.
I always have my finger sticks, glucose tablets, jelly beans, some carb snacks, my phone, and my medical bracelet with me. And always let my family know where I am going, and share my location with my wife via the phone when out hiking by myself.
I also have a banana and some fruit juice before I start to pre-load some carbs.

Would definitely eat a rice crispie treat and take a break depending on how I felt. Also, might finger prick in case I was lower
