I sometimes think that every health care practitioner should have videos like this as part of their training, don't you?
People just don't seem to understand the suffering of this illness, frankly, sometimes when people are more functioning it's almost worse because you life in this no-mans land where everyone (including ourselves) expect us to be normal and do things but we never can, we never measure up!

Ye I definitely feel like ppl just donât seem to get it. Iâm not saying cancer is easier I do feel blessed to not need a hospital or meds or many other discomforts , but cfs is very misunderstood and hidden. And that can cuz an extreme feeling of isolation, loneliness and helplessness which some days feels like itâs forever.

I cannot even sympathize with someone having cancer by saying "I understand what survival modus feels like". They got really mad at me how I would compare this, because cancer clearly must be worse. Meanwhile cancer patients often still can go everywhere, when they are invited and I am in the bed or on the couch and on good days on the balcony or in the garden. No one seems to see that isolation hurts often the most and doctors try to prescribe me medication for 'lack of motivation' or have advice: go simply more outside and be active. This is at least also traumatizing if not worse than the symptoms itself.
