It's amazing how much music is an impact..
Grew up with someone, spent alot of our childhood together walking home from school, living in a small town. Went to the same highschool but had a different group of friends. Her being a free spirit, me just wanting to play sports... Graduated and I went into the service, put my focus on that, she got involved with a bad guy. I ran into her at a hometown bar 2 months before she died, we talked like there was no tomorrow... She was crazy into music the same way i was, always showing me a band i never heard of, and id hopefully give the same to her with my country music.
Ive Got Friends by Manchester Orchestra was the last song we talked about, so i figured id listen to something i haven't heard by them yet.

This is the most profound illustration of the inevitability of life.
The human mind isn’t designed to perceive a world without us in it. So we live like we’re immortal…
Beautiful metaphor for how we die a thousand times over again before we see the way.
We ultimately arrive there much later, older but wiser. We are the obstacle. We are the very thing that gets in our own way. We keep our hearts caged, our minds enraged and our spirits plagued. “God@***ned diabolical”
Beautiful, poetic and bitter-sweet acknowledgement that life is finite. And the only thing definite is the destination and we are all going regardless. The real warfare is spiritual warfare and we’ll wrestle these demons and restart after every tragedy we suffer until we find “the way” - everyone is looking for the antidote. We realize often too late that he’s been there the whole time.

I think I'm losing the line
The altar is inaudible
Dense and pathological
Capillary thread
When you run out of time
The soul becomes synodical
The weight is now phenomenal
And deafening again
Those are my favorite lyrics in this song. I love that Manchester Orchestra makes a video for every song they make.

Spot on great song. Moves me to tears when I think of the hellscape I created with my addiction, the to go through with it and now almost 2 years clean, am saying YES it starts agian, better, wiser, healthy, genuinly happy about myself, the way is pain, but one dance with Holy One is worth a enternity of pain, deep I know, but resurecting a Soul is much harder then the flesh.

This was playing on the Sirius site when I left the crematorium, arrangements for my wife's service. She's gone. Was amazing, beautiful and touched me.
