Opened in 1926 and governed by a seven-member appointed Commission, the Port of Corpus Christi is the largest port in the United States in total revenue tonnage, and the #1 U.S. crude oil export gateway. The Port manages a 47-foot-deep ship channel (dredging to 54 ft.), provides access to three Class I railroads – BNSF, KCS, and UP – and quick access to the entire U.S. inland waterway system. Strategically positioned on the western Gulf of Mexico, the Port has direct connectivity to the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin, ensuring the Port’s position as the Energy Port of the Americas.
