The fact that I started this channel back in 2014 as a fun side project for myself and that it's since grown so large is amazing, but isn't without it's share of conflicted decisions on my part. When I began, I upload purely for myself (what I wanted to upload). Now that so many people follow my channel I'm constantly thinking about what you'd like to hear. Honestly, past videos are all over in the place in terms of theme and genre!
Nearing 250k subscribers is what pushed me towards learning to write and produce music myself. When I began the channel I promoted other people's music to help both them and my channel to grow; I didn't know how to write. Now that I have the attention of so many people I'm really drawn to producing something I think you'd like. That's why I opted for the genre poll!
What I like best, because I've been a drummer for years, is chill music with a catchy beat. So, that's my favorite genre to write now that I've begun to learn! I'd even renamed and restructured the channel to go in-line more with what I knew I wanted to share, because I realize it's just as important to enjoying uploading to my channel as it is to make sure you enjoy what I upload : )

A ton of people participated in the poll. The overwhelming majority voted for world/ethnic cultural music with lofi and chill music coming in second.
That's a result I expected as the channel has hundreds of world music videos already uploaded and that's what subscribers have come to expect. While I'd like to be able to write and provide many different types of music, I realize the channel needs to maintain a congruent theme and viewers may be confused and/or disappointed if I upload several different types of music regularly.
I'm going to take these results into consideration and try to provide something that's both appealing for you and aligned with the channel's theme. Maybe that mean's combining the two genres and creating some world music lofi tracks! We'll see!
