Summer is in full swing and it is SO important to make sure your child is keeping up on their reading skills. Reading is a skill children will use for their entire lives, it is so necessary to encourage your child to LOVE reading.

Our reading program is a multi-sensory approach to reading and language. The program focuses on developing foundational skills in reading such as phonological awareness, decoding, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and fluency as well as cognitive skills such as working memory, attention, processing, and sequencing skills. These exercises turn reading into fun games, using interactive graphics (animals, aliens, etc.)

Give our office a call to see if our reading intervention program is the right fit for your family.

You may not know it, but you have probably used biofeedback with your children. Recording their weight and taking their temperature are both forms of biofeedback as they provide parents with information about their children’s bodies. This information allows parents to choose behaviors that may help them gain or lose weight if that is a problem or reduce their temperature if the child has a fever.

Biofeedback has loads of benefits from biofeedback. If you are looking for a therapy center or clinic that offers the best biofeedback therapy, then check out this website!

It’s a great thing to look after your physical health by participating in different sports, joining aerobics classes, and going for a walk in the evening. However, are you aware of how exercise protects your brain health?

Recently, a study was conducted on a group of 454 elderly adults who underwent physical and cognitive examinations. They also agreed to donate their brains for further study after they die. Moreover, the participants were given accelerometers that tracked their movement and physical activity.

The researchers reported that those who engaged in the physical activity performed well on memory and thinking tests. They also claimed that an increase in physical activity reduced the chances of a dementia diagnosis by 31%.

If you are depressed, anxious, or want to improve your mood and reduce your risk of being diagnosed with dementia, then 150-minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week can help improve your brain health.

In the next few sections, we’ll talk about a few neurological benefits of exercise.
