Jupiter's moon Europa hides a liquid water ocean under an icy crust. The presence of water makes Europa an intriguing candidate when searching for life beyond Earth.
Explore the Webb telescope's view of the icy moon in Other Worlds episode 2:
Hay is for nebulae! ๐ด
Watch our view of the Horsehead Nebula change, from Euclid to Hubble to Webb's newest look.
Ready to GOES!
Meet NOAAโs GOES-U satellite, set to launch this summer to join our nationโs fleet of spacecraft monitoring weather and environmental hazards from geostationary orbit. Catch up on the satelliteโs capabilities before GOES-U goes up to space.

New visualizations from Goddard scientists let you fly into a supermassive black hole, beyond the event horizon. No worries! Unlike real black holes, you can escape from your screen.
Rendering these visualizations generated about 10 terabytes of data โ roughly equivalent to half of the text content in the Library of Congress โ more than 5 days on the Discover supercomputer.
Does #BlackHoleWeek have you dreaming of a journey far, far away? Before taking a trip to the nearest known black hole (about 1,500 light-years away), our Traveler has some safety tips!

The James Webb Space Telescope is helping us explore the universe...and some planets closer to home. In the first episode of Other Worlds, meet some of the scientists using Webb to study other planets in our solar system.
Truly out of this world ๐คฉ
This image from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope shows NGC 604 with more than 200 new stars!
We think Yule really enjoy this!
Settle in with 14 years of all-sky observations from the Fermi Gamma-ray Telescope. Our Milky Way galaxy creates the band of โembersโ stretching across the screen. We even added a crackling soundtrack for maximum coziness!
Itโs International #ObserveTheMoon Night, a time to learn about lunar science and exploration, take part in celestial observations, and honor cultural and personal connections to the Moon!
How are you celebrating? ๐
On Oct. 14, the Moon will block most of the Sun along a path through North, Central and South America. It is never safe to look directly at this kind of eclipse โ known as annular โ without specialized eye protection designed for solar viewing.

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center is home to the nation's largest organization of combined scientists, engineers and technologists that build spacecraft, instruments and new technology to study Earth, the sun, our solar system and the universe.
Named for American rocketry pioneer Dr. Robert H. Goddard, the center was established in 1959 as NASA's first space flight complex. Goddard and its several facilities are critical in carrying out NASA's missions of space exploration and scientific discovery.
Watch for the latest in NASA's research into planetary science, astrophysics, Earth observing, and solar science.
