Hello again, It's now the month of August. This month I'll be mainly uploading previously inaccessible and underappreciated classical music from my country, the Philippines, like I did last year. (continuing the tradition of ‪@thenameisgsarci‬ uploading Filipino pieces in August)
But this time I'll be uploading twice a day for the first few weeks, because why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There will be different 'themes(?)' to each week, with the 1st ones consisting of only Songs, the 2nd Piano works, the 3rd Concertos & Chamber music, and the 4th will be reserved to a single composer. Orchestral works will be posted every saturday. That's all.

And also, if you like score video channels like mine, there is now an official discord server for Score Videos: discord.gg/4yxUcgb

Happy 160th birthday to Gustav Mahler! As a celebration of his life I uploaded his one of his earliest surviving works - the cantata Das Klagende Lied, and his final work - the unfinished Symphony no. 10.

Das Klagende Lied, here presented in its original 3 movement form, was written in 1878-1880. He revised it several times - greatly changing the orchestration and even removing the Waldmarchen movement. The final version was premiered in 1901: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBkJ9...

Mahler started writing his 10th Symphony in 1910 but he passed away in 1911 before he could finish the work. There are several performing versions and completions, the most famous of which is Cooke's performing edition. For this I chose to do Barshai's completion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qYqW...

Despite this joyous occasion, there are also some unfortunate events this month. Composers Nikolai Kapustin and Film composer Ennio Morricone had died.
Kapustin was a revered composer and pianist. His works, such as the Eight concert etudes and six piano concertos, show his style of mixing Jazz and Classical influences. Ennio Morricone was primarily remembered as the composer for several movies, such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West. Many of his film scores have garnered awards like the Oscars and Grammys.
May both of them Rest in Peace
