Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic Chanel fashion designer, has died at age 85.
Speaking to CNBC's Tania Bryer in 2017, Lagerfeld discussed his childhood, his work and the designers he admired.
When asked about his legacy, Lagerfeld replied, "I will not be around for that so… Who cares!"
Tributes for the designer have poured in from the world of haute couture. CEO of LVMH Bernard Arnault, Italian designer Donatella Versace and British designer Victoria Beckham have all praised his "genius."
