Today is the first day of the dutch North Sea Jazz festival, and on this day 44 years ago the festival featured the STANLEY CLARKE BAND. Stanley (1951), famous for playing handmade Alembic bassguitars and the piccolo bassguitar returned to the festival in 2018.

HAPPY SUMMER: as promised, we started to upload two clips a week in july, on tuesday and friday. Last tuesday we released the clip "love will keep us together" from one of the most versatile jazz artists ever. Mel Tormé. CONGRATS TO: Montgomery Bernard "Monty" Alexander, today the great pianoplayer was born 80 (!) years ago in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1979 he visited The Hague, where he had a great show at the North Sea Jazzfestival.
