Thank you for 100k views on The Personality Machine!
It's definitely my favorite video I have made so far, so that means a lot to me. I had expected that the video would get much less attention considering its length and themes.
It took a long time to make despite how simple it might look, and I learned a lot that I think I could use to make more long videos like this in the future.
Until then I'll probably be making a lot of shorter and sweeter videos that are probably a bit more silly and experimental. As much as I like "deep" introspective stuff exploring heavy themes, I would probably go insane if that was all I ever did. There's two wolves inside of me, or something like that.

I drew these faces. I like the idea of being able to vary my style depending on what mood is better for a video. But would you be able to tell they were drawn by the same artist? (two images attached)

It's only the first of December and I have more videos coming, but I just wanted to say that this year has been a great year for learning!
Unfortunately the youtube algorithm has not been very kind to me this year, but it's also opened up my eyes to a lot of things. It's very easy to blame the "algorithm" for a lot of things, but at the core that algorithm is still based around people. And although, my goal isn't to chase after "big number", I do want to make things I like that are also engaging to people, resonates with them and makes them want to share it with others.
So it has pushed me a lot in learning about art and storytelling, and quite often in ways that were unexpected.
Sometimes we set up an ideal in our head about the kind of person, or artist, we should be, and it can be a lot more difficult to learn something new if it feels like it might break our "ideal".
So it's been a bit exhausting trying to find the answer to a lot of questions, but the answer all along has been; "make more things". And I don't think I would've continued without people continuing to say how much some videos meant to them, so thank you!
I often feel a bit of shame trying to promote things like my patreon or ko-fi, but I think I deserve at least one time this year of promoting myself.
