Nowhere is mindfulness more important than in the workplace. From bosses who don't like your work to coworker gossip, there are so many things that can trigger this stress response that mindfulness can help us with in the office. Since you can't always leave work and go meditate for 20 minutes, it becomes crucial to integrate mindfulness into our work lives.
There are some very simple, practical things we can do in the office to help us be more mindful and see situations from a different perspective. This way, we are not suffering internally and struggling with whatever tasks we have to accomplish that day. I share 11 easy ways to practice mindfulness at work in my blog.

Why does someone else’s success make us feel so crummy? Why do some people take pleasure in other people’s successes, and other people become miserable with envy? We all know comparison is the thief of joy, so why do we still get jealous when scrolling through friends’ vacation photos or seeing other people achieve big things? And most importantly, how can we be inspired by success instead of drained by negative, useless, downward spirals of jealous thoughts?

In order to free ourselves from insecurity and jealousy, we must first develop a deep understanding of what insecurity is, where it stems from, and how it spreads its little seeds of doubt and fear. Once we understand the nature of our own insecurity, we can recognize when it rears its head. Once we recognize it, it can no longer hold its subversive grip over us. You can now find free resources on fighting insecurity and jealousy at Eastwesticism.org

While some people block out troubling memories, others live with painful memories their whole lives. But it's not about whether we forget or remember, it's about whether we have healed from our past. A painful past only stays painful if we haven't healed. More on this in my blog.

We are all connected. When one person awakens, the universe awakens slightly more. Like a spark turns into a fire, so too the light of consciousness will engulf this world. Your support, however large or small, is the kindling for this wildfire to spread and take hold. The revolution, the total transformation of our planet, starts within every heart. When we know ourselves, we know the universe entire. When one person discovers the raging love within, that love cannot be contained.

Even if your support helps these timeless teachings reach just one person who is suffering despair and depression, your support will have changed the world. Every action creates a reaction, which creates another reaction, and another, and another. Your destiny is tied up with the destiny of humanity. When hatred, cruelty and violence become intolerable, love will prevail. But it will take all of us doing everything we can. I will do my part. You can join me on this journey by going to EastWesticism.org

To those who have already supported this mission, I and the world are in your debt. You are leading us to a brighter future and I am honored and humbled to be walking this path with you. Eternally grateful. You have made all this work possible. Much love.

Addiction comes in many forms. Whether it’s the news, video games, binge-watching, online shopping, internet browsing, VR, pornography, online gambling or something more traditional like smoking, the effects are very much the same. The habits take up our time, hijack the wiring in our brains, and they cost a lot of money. But most importantly, they are avoidance devices — they help us avoid the here and now, and ourselves.

Whatever we’re feeling goes away when we give into addiction. It’s the easy out from spending quality time with ourselves. But over time, the addiction becomes a crutch that makes us miserable. That's why, on eastwesticism.org I am sharing free resources on how we can all consume the digital stuff mindfully so that it brings us more peace and purpose in our lives.

What is the nature of thought? Why do we think? Why do we do so much of it? Why is it so hard to stop? And is stopping even possible?

In my latest YouTube video, I explore why the thinking mind has such a strong grip on us. I discuss our attachment to thinking, our fear of not thinking, and how we can take back the reins of our mind and start getting it to do what our higher mind actually wants it to do.

For those who have lost so much. For those who have been put through more than your fair share of suffering. For those who have been beaten down by life time and time again. For those who feel weak and tired from torment. I just want to say, you are brave. You are strong. You have gone through so much and are still here. You are a survivor. A fighter. And if you can get through all that you’ve gone through, you can get through anything. You’ve got this.

Be patient with yourself. Be kind to yourself. And don’t forget to love yourself.

Knowing how difficult the path through grief and loss can be, I created a page on EastWesticism website with free resources to provide comfort and support during your healing journey.

Here, you will find resources to help you get through life’s most difficult times. Whether it’s the loss of a person or a pet, these devastating events can change us forever. May this wisdom bring you some solace, meaning, and resolve.

You may have heard of the ego — that voice in our head that we think is us. But you might not be aware of the Digital Ego. Ever since the rise of social media and smartphones, human beings have been living digital lives with digital personas, and this gave birth to the digital ego.

Just as our ego seeks out materialism, our digital ego chases after digital materialism. Now instead of craving clothes and cars, we’re craving likes and follows. Instead of real friends, we want Facebook friends. And instead of talking with people, we argue with strangers.

In my book, Digital Ego, I explore how the rise of the digital ego correlates with the rise of anxiety, ADHD, depression and even suicide. I look at how these technologies hook us, the dangers they pose, and how we can break free from the screens so we can invite more peace, love and joy into our lives. Become mindful of how you are using technology, how it makes you feel, and of the fact that you are creating these feelings because you are the one who has control over what you do. Take a digital detox, whenever needed, to reset your dopamine levels and to rebalance yourself.

More on how to take a digital detox and use social media mindfully in my book, Digital Ego. Available for free on Amazon for the next 3 days.
