As we're wrapping up our last weeks in West Virginia before moving abroad, I'm feeling so incredibly grateful that this is our life. That we have the freedom to make choices like this without being bound to a location for work and money.
And my gratitude goes to this man right here. The best husband and father but most of all, the idealistic, realist, dreamer that he is.
I'm all for being an independent and strong woman. I took my own path careerwise, got my doctorate degree and established myself professionally.
But you see, never in a million years would I have thought full time travel and financial freedom was even a possibility for us. Sure I dreamed of traveling the world and not working my life away, but to me it was just a dream. We didn't have any money when we met. We didn't know the first thing about real estate and investing.
Jon's different because he had the same dreams but he is idealistic while also being a realist and that's a powerful combination. He can see the dreams, the bigger picture, all of the possibilities but also understands the sacrifices and delayed gratification it takes to get there. He planned this path for us.
I could on and on talking about how in his 20s he would work all day and then spend the night listening to financial podcasts, reading real estate books and planning our life.
I have a strong academic background with many achievements but I will always say that self education is the most difficult form of education. It takes discipline and a vision. Nobody is telling you what to learn, where to learn it and when. Nobody is making sure you understand before moving onto the next subject. There are no tests before you apply it to life.
All that to say, thank you to you babe. Thanks for always knowing that we could do this and for figuring out how. I honestly used to get offended when people would say things like "She doesn't have to work because of her husband" but damn if that ain't the truth lol. I have worked my a** off along side you, but you led us here ❤️

11 years of marriage, 16 years together, and forever to go.
Thank you for this beautiful life. All the love and laughs. And the hard times because they made us who we are today.
You are the best husband and father. I'm so thankful for you and what we've built together. What an incredible thing it is to love and be loved for who you truly are.
I love you! ❤️

We are a family of adventurers who have turned our passion for exploring the world into a way of life but our story truly began when we adopted our daughter, Tyanna, through the foster care system in 2019. As travel bloggers, we love sharing our experiences, insights, and the joys of journeying together. Webster defines family as a group of individuals living under one roof, but in our world, family means so much more. It’s the love that binds us, the memories we create, and the journey we take together.
Whether we’re flying, sailing, road-tripping in our camper van, or riding the rails, our travels are about embracing the beautiful chaos of life as a family. We may not always be under the same roof (or any roof at all!) but wherever we go, our love and togetherness are what make us a family. We’re thrilled to have you join us on this adventure and hope our story inspires you to find joy in the journey, wherever it may lead.
Explore Kindly,
Jon, Rhianna, & Tyanna
