We all know that networking can be GREAT for business, but how do you actually feel about networking?
Here are some tips to help you slay your next networking event👇
1️⃣ Don’t go with the expectation of finding clients.
This will only make you feel like you have to “perform” and pitch your services to everyone you meet (which is annoying A.F.)
It feels forced and unnatural and it’s just not a great approach.
Instead, go with the hope of making new connections (maybe even life-long friends!)
2️⃣ Focus on learning & and growing your skills.
Remember, people are at these events to learn something new. And that’s ultimately why you should be there too.
When you have the mentality that EVERYONE is a “student”, it’s a little less scary to engage and participate.
3️⃣ Be yourself.
Remember - people hire people. Your quirks and personality are what make you so appealing to potential clients.
So don’t worry about having the perfect sales pitch or making yourself sound like this amazing and impressive person.
When people ask you about what you do... just tell them. Be real!
4️⃣ Remember you’re not alone.
I can almost guarantee that you aren’t the only person there who is feeling nervous.
So if you see anyone hanging out alone, go talk to them!
Empower yourself with the mindset that YOU can make someone else feel less alone and more comfortable.
