Today, I typed my name into Youtube and found this: a two part reading of The Girl with Glowing Red Eyes, one of the gothic story poems from the book I wrote about 10 years ago.
Part one: www.youtube.com/shorts/7STtrO...
Part two: www.youtube.com/shorts/3OIgr0...
It was a big part of the dream of writing the book, that stuff like this would someday follow. Thanks Patrick!
PS. It never was one of my favorites, this poem... but I really enjoyed the reading.
Oops. I wanted to film a static shot of early sunset light on some surfable waves. I watched the waves for a fair while before choosing a spot, put my camera on a step, quite high above where I'd seen the highest of waves. The light on the waves was gorgeous, and the tide was going out.
I guess the sea just really wanted another go-pro for it's collection.
I searched when the water had retreated a bit further, and found the foam wind noise reducer about 80 meters down the beach. No sign of the camera. Oh well, at least it didn't have much footage on it.
My friend Liam, (who did the background music for my Mudlarking Theme Tune) is running a Kickstarter campaign.
It reached his modest target in just slightly more than one day, but I thought I'd post a link anyway, in the hopes that you'd take a look... and if you enjoy his boundless creativity, and like the look of this project, then perhaps you'd consider supporting him: www.kickstarter.com/projects/highgreendawn/the-com…
His Instagram page has many things too: www.instagram.com/highgreendawn/
Fellow mudlarkers Diego and Alison, of the channel The Happy Mudlarks, have lost their YouTube channel, and all of their backed up videos.
They're having to start again from zero. If you were subscribed and want to keep seeing their videos, their new channel is here: youtube.com/@happylarkers
My friend's very first Kickstarter campaign is about half way through, and more than halfway funded! A wonderful achievement for someone who struggles intensely with promoting his own work.
Hopefully a post here can help a bit; maybe reaching just a few people who'd really enjoy the book he's made: www.kickstarter.com/projects/thecommonswings/thunk…
OK, a strange video idea just occurred to me: another Q&A video, but all my answers would be ludicrous silliness.
An artist friend of mine is preparing to launch his first Kickstarter campaign, so in the hopes that his inventive humour and artwork will be appealing to some of you too, here's a link:

I've attached a few of his pictures, lifted from Instagram. (And a link to an image nest: www.instagram.com/p/CZkj8irsmKv/)
This is not a request for you to buy anything, but if the project does interest you then perhaps you'd consider signing up to be notified when the campaign goes live.
Thank you.
😭 A hard drive malfunctioned, seemingly irrevocably; taking with it an almost completed video project, and half of another one.
About 40 hours of work, poof, gone.
Thankfully, the raw files are backed up on a different hard drive, so when I can face it again, I'll make that video, again. And in the meantime, I'll start work on a different one. Sorry everyone, yet another delay. 😔
