Unsure if YouTube sent out the notifications properly, in case you haven't got it here is the link the my last video, where I filmed gold flakes on whipped cream and coffee in macro details: https://youtu.be/yO08_zpKDbY
I need some likes on it :) Thanks!

If you've seen both videos, which one did you like more? The one where the watermelon lasted for 609 days, or when it only went on for 72 days, but the whole process took place on a kitchen scale?

I'd appreciate some constructive criticism in the comments!

A question I often get is about the amount of storage space these long time lapses take up on my hard drives and the environmental conditions like temperature and humidity that I maintain while filming. This post is about my latest video - the cigarette time lapse - where I kept the cigarette in a closed container at 99% humidity.

1st image: This is the properties window of the project folder. 907GB

2nd image: My first hygrometer couldn't survive a week in these conditions. You can see my barely-functioning hygrometer, which soon after this photo was taken stopped working completely, and even a battery swap didn't help either.

3rd image: Fortunately, the replacement hygrometer was more robust and managed to last through the whole duration of the experiment.

Just in case you haven't seen the video yet, you can check it out here: https://youtu.be/NkpmMCWIhik

Your amazing response to my behind the scenes toilet studio shot was incredible, thank you! 🚽

For those who've watched my recent rose in water time-lapse (and for those who haven't, here's the link: https://youtu.be/C6NAk1q3LGQ), I thought I'd give you an insight into the technical side of that shot.

This side by sie image shows the difference a polarizer filter and lens can make. On the left is the non-polarized photo, and on the right is the polarized photo of the rose in water under the dome.

Notice how the polarized image has significantly less reflections, resulting in a clearer and darker appearance.

Which one do you prefer?

Soundproof studios are overrated. My bathroom? Just perfect. Pin drop silence. 🚽
Like if you want me to post more behind the scene shots of me breaking the norms of filming practices and locations. 😄

Who needs a $1000 macro lens when you've got a $15 magnifying dome? Budget-friendly macro photography. 😏
