I first discovered EFT 15 years ago, and I found it very effective for my physical symptoms of hay fever and monthly migraines. As my work and understanding of the mind-body connection have developed, I began to create tapping videos for physical healing.

Every year on January 4th, Facebook reminds me of my all-time favourite memory.
In March 2015 my daughter was desperate to go to Disneyland.
In response to her pleas, I made a promise, "We will go one day, but for now, let's create a Vision Board."
At the time, I had been conducting Vision Board workshops for a few years, but this was the first time I embarked on this journey with my daughter.

Throughout the rest of 2015, I made it my mission to make the Disneyland trip a reality and surprise the kids on Christmas morning with the news. I set ambitious income goals, tirelessly researched flight costs, priced out the trip, and talked to travel agents.
Unfortunately, 2015 also marked the end of my marriage, leaving me a single parent. However, I was determined to make the trip happen.
As months passed, I focused on growing my business to afford the trip, while my daughter continued her nightly visualisations.
As Christmas approached, I hadn't reached my income goals, so I surrendered my Disney dream to the Universe.
Then, on January 4th, I received a phone call from Disney's head office in London ā I had won an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World in Florida.
A few months earlier, I had entered a prize draw in a shoe shop, filling out a competition entry form. Miraculously, I won first prize.
I was overwhelmed with gratitude and tears.
I never tire of recounting this incredible story because it holds profound lessons. It's more than just creating a vision board. Every night, my daughter activated that vision in her mind, living her future in her imagination. As her mother, I held that vision for her. I never said the words "I can't afford it," unlike my parents 30 years earlier. Instead, I embraced a principle I teach my clients ā never say, "I can't afford it." Instead, ask, "How can I make this happen?"

Our past, and especially our childhood holds the key to many of our belief systems, our fears, our limitations, insecurities and the stories we tell ourselves.
Despite having a happy childhood, loving parents and wonderful memories, there were things from my childhood which created disempowering beliefs about myself that I didnāt even know I had until I discovered tapping.
The last picture is of me aged three at Heathrow Airport, where I was about to fly off and leave my parents and spend nine months in Thailand with my mums family. Although I was loved dearly and had the best time with my family (a bond which remains to this day) little three year old Mel desperately missed her mummy and daddy, and it wasnāt until I did my EFT practitioner training in 2012 that I understood how much trauma I had been carrying for more than 30 years as a result of this belief that I was abandoned.
One hot-seat tapping session immediately healed my story around feeling abandoned.
So many deeply buried emotions were released.
This was the moment I understood just how powerful EFT was.
