This is 40! This is Fatherâs Day! This is my FIRST Fatherâs Day! What a dayâŠ
Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a dad, and I wanted a baby girl. I wanted an amazing marriage. A true partnership. Today I wake up at 40, with both, feeling like I never actually woke up, still dreaming.
My beautiful wife inside and out, gave us a healthy baby just 3 months ago. And now we canât imagine our life without her.
At 3 months, Baby Rhea has already grown out of her newborn phase, and her personality is shining bright. I know sheâll grow up in a heartbeat, and Iâm already missing this version of her. She is a constant reminder to be present. As a âworkaholicâ, this is a reminder Iâve always needed help with.
I came home late last night from working a wedding, and as the clock struck midnight and I officially turned 4-0, I set to finish the editing and scheduling of our next YouTube video (pt 2 to Lindsey Williamsâ interview goes out tomorrow morning). My first thought that first hour of 40 was, âof course Iâm still working.â My goal this year is to be better at the work-life balance. I want to spend as much time as I possibly can with my family.
Today, on this incredible day, I spend it with them at a boutique hotel for a staycation that @sheliseann planned. I am filled with so much gratitude. I know with all of my heart that I am incredibly fortunate. In this new decade Iâm trying with everything I have be still and enjoy the fleeting moment while we have it.
Iâm excited for whatâs to come.

Our most recent guest Misty Griffin, is making huge waves after her escape from abuse in the Amish settlement she was forced into. (See episode here: https://youtu.be/wNzELfWNiUA?si=ADtL4... ) She is asking for signatures with the goal of the following:
"Congress- Pass a Child Rights Act. At a minimum, these rights should include Erin's Law being extended into private/religious schools (age-appropriate sexual abuse prevention education) and unlicensed religious school teachers need to be required to take mandated reporter training and be held accountable to report suspected child abuse. Homeschoolers must take the same mandated reporter training and must also teach Erinâs law."
To help illustrate how serious this is and how there can be non-obvious lifelong physical consequences to child sex abuse aside from emotional and mental, Misty has just been diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis which is a narrowing of the spinal canal caused by trauma. When asked how we could help, her only request was to get this petition out to as many people as possible. Our C2C community is so amazing, I know we can all make a difference!

UPDATE!!! âMormon Bishop Exposed for Years of Sexually Abusing His Daughter, Chelsea Goodrichâ CHARGED!

âPolice and federal authorities had been searching for John Goodrich after a grand jury in Williamsburg on Jan. 17 found probable cause that he committed four felonies, including rape by force, threat or intimidation, forcible sodomy, and two counts of felony aggravated sexual battery by a parent of a child.â (AP article found here: apnews.com/article/mormon-church-investigation-chiâŠ)
He had been running from the police for almost 3 weeks and the US Marshalls and FBI were tasked to help find him, before he took the advice of his attorneys and turned himself in.
A statement from Chelsea Goodrich (our guest, daughter of John and survivor of abuse) about his arrest:
âI hope this case will finally bring justice for my childhood sexual abuse by John Goodrich. The case in Idaho was handled there by the former Mtn. Home Deputy Prosecutor, in a manner which has been described as âunconscionableâ by multiple attorneys and law enforcement involved. Iâm grateful it appears that the Commonwealth of Virginia is taking one event of child sexual assault more seriously than years of repeated assaults were treated in Idaho.
The Idaho case was also closed with prejudice, which is almost unheard of with such a case. So Virginia is my last chance for criminal justice, and for John Goodrich to be a registered sex offender, so other children can be better protected against him.
I ask that the former Stake President who John Goodrich confessed to in 1999 about his sexual abuse of me, come forward as a witness about his knowledge of my abuse. This confession was not long after John assaulted me in Virginia.
I ask that Bishop Michael Miller come forward as a witness to what John Goodrich confessed to him in 2015 about his sexual abuse of me, including what happened on the 1999 field trip. John told Miller the assault on that trip took place in D.C., but it actually was in Virginia, where there also happens to be no statute of limitations on the crime.
I ask that anyoneâfrom the LDS Churchâs Helpline or otherwiseâwith knowledge of Johnâs sexual abuse of me as a child, please come forward and tell the truth.
I ask that the LDS Church, if they care about children in the way that they claim, to please make a statement that they will support and defend any of their members who come forward with credible knowledge of John Goodrichâs sexual abuse of me, or of any other children. The Church knows more about the full extent of my sexual abuse than I do. Here is their opportunity to stop keeping secrets for people like John Goodrich, and instead help stop the perpetuation of child sexual abuse.â
If anyone has any information about John or other potential victims that could be helpful to the truth coming forward, please go to the police. And please everyone, protect your children by not trusting anyone at face value, no matter how nice they seem, or even if they are your doctor, dentist, teacher, or church leader!
Thank you again to our amazing C2C community who took actions against John, wrote reviews on his place of work where he was still interacting with children, and for the words of support for Chelsea and her mother who went through hell trying to get him arrested and are FINALLY seeing a glimpse of hope that Justice might be served.
