Beachcombing on Turtle Beach, Thailand @[email protected]

Two years ago I retired to Turtle Beach, on the Andaman Sea coast of Thailand. Since then I've wandered the beach once or twice a day, collecting very specific articles of man-made plastic trash which I approach as free art materials. I was the first foreigner to ever walk in the Turtle Day Parade, beside a float I made myself out of reclaimed cigarette lighters. That first turtle has been installed permanently in the Visitors Center of the Haad Thai Muang National Park, a protected turtle nesting habitat. I continue to make turtle-themed art (craft? Compulsion?) with the trash I bring back from the beach.
